GX-Ware Reports
GX-Ware Reports is used to create letters, (these could be documents, advertisements, labels), where each letter corresponds to an item in GX-Ware. The letter typically contains information specific to that item. For example if items represent patients at a dental practice then an appointment reminder letter might be created that contains the name and address of the patient as well as the date of their next appointment.
These reports are created for items that match a set of specific criteria, GX-Ware Resource Control is supplied with Standard Reports allowing the following groups to be targeted:
- Items scanned in on a particular date.
- Items scanned in since a particular date and previous.
- Items scanned in from a particular date onwards.
- Custom Letters
- Any line of data can be selected and a value supplied. Reports will then be generated for all items that match the value. For example if you wish to generate letters for all women in the database then you would select the "Sex" line and set the value to "Female".
- Item Letter
- Rather than target a group of items a specific report can be generated for the currently selected item.
Libraries containing additional letter types and preformatted letter templates are also available from Generation X Design. Please see our
Products page for all currently available Libraries.

The following picture shows a generated letter, in this case a receipt has been created. It contains a barcode which can be scanned in using
GX-Ware Security Scanning.

With GX-Ware Reports, information gathered using
GX-Ware Security Scanning can be acted upon to enhance productivity and increase revenue. This is illustrated in the following business example:
A social club holds a disco which is headlined by a local band whose act is a tribute to the 80's pop group Queen. The event is well attended by the club members, especially men in their early thirties. The following year the surviving Queen members plan a comeback and the social club secures a booking on their tour. To gain the best possible response with a minimum advertising cost, the social club sends out fliers to all members that attended the performance of the tribute band the year before, as well as all men in their early thirties.
In this example all members attending the tribute band's performance are recorded by GX-Ware as they enter the club. A year later when planning the new event the club secretary produces a letter template containing general information. GX-Ware then scans its records to find all members that fit the target audience and for each one produces a copy of the template complete with details specific to the member in question, (for example their name and home address).
